bluescreen - trying to boot a win 7 vhd 8 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I have created a windows 7 ult. x64 vhd on my machine.

While trying to load it on a diffrent hardware, I get a blue-screen while the logo of win. 7 is spinning.

Should I do something while switching to a diffrent set of hardware?

Thanks

I had similar problem with Windows XP as yours described.

I do not know how to fix it with Windows 7, but on Windows XP Repair option (making reinstallation that way, but preserving settings) after completion allowed it to boot normally.

Most propably the problem is related with different hard disk configuration

Sometimes changing BIOS settings related to hard disk (or image of hard disk)
specifically settings related to the controller can solve this issue without need to repair/reinstall.

Maybe someone else remembers how to do that or had similar issue and remembers?

EDIT: Have you tried to put boot up from Windows DVD and use boot repair options? (If it is possible when mounting the image with Windows 7)

I believe the repair options on Windows DVD are able to solve this issue, but not sure.
