Vboot usb vhd wont boot 4 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
So I installed the vboot bootloader to my usb, using the
vbootedit64.exe install /drive E: /mbr
method, where E is my usb drive, copied over the VMDK virtual hard drive file, adjusted the GRUB file to detect my VHD (a simple change of windows 7 default to windows 8, and the location of the default VHD). I am doing a native boot usb, where the host computer is not edited so that the usb will boot on any computer

Tested it in QEMU and it works and boots not only Vboot but the windows VHD perfectly fine, but when i hit f12 on my laptop at bios boot to get to the boot menu to select it, it only shows windows boot manager. Again, in QEMU it worked fine, and i tested a different Ubuntu USB key and that was detected fine.

I even went as far as to try to mimic a hard drive by creating a partition at the begining of the usb to mimic an MBR and installed vboot there and setting it active, but that had no luck either, though I think this step is grossly un-needed and doesnt need to be done? Maybe im wrong

Any ideas why the vboot usb key isnt being detected?
I am running an Acer Aspire v11 touch with windows 8 installed.
Any advice is greatly appreciated
