Hello,

The issue with Windows 2000 , the BSOD 7B is continuing with the latest release of Vboot :

vmlite.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&a...=17&id=6846#6858

Any chance for Windows 2000 installation?

I tried the method you mentioned in this posting :

vmlite.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&a...p;limitstart=18#6900

Thanks, yes, we will test more on w2k.

So far, the majority of tests on 2k is cloning from an already installed system to a vhd, then use "vbootctl prepare" to make it bootable.

Cloned a live Windows 2000 system to an .img file ( raw format ) vboot starts to boot the virtual Windows 2000 installation. I can see the Window 2000 boot progress indicator on the screen but some seconds later the BSOD with the 7B code shows itself again.

are you cloning w2k from a real physical machine? If it's virtual machine, you will have problem running it via vboot. You need to insert mass storage drivers.

We haven't got a chance to look at windows 2000 issues yet. Due to a limitation of its NTFS driver, the current vboot has problems installing 2000 to a vhd. We will investigate it.

Hello,

Yes, I cloned Windows 2000 from a real physical computer. The same W2K installation is copied from the real partition to the virtual partition having the raw format. It would be nice to have full W2K support. Thanks for moving the issue to the investigation agenda.

Will we get a new trial?

This is a trial version, which expires on July-15-2011. After expired, Windows virtual disks won't boot, and BSOD will occur.

we will provide a 14-day trial version from now on. The vhd will fail to boot after 14 days. The expiration date will be no longer absolute. So a user can always try it.
