im trying to install XP using VBoot, ive followed all the steps from the instructions, but when i go to install XP it gets past the loading section but then turns to a BSOD which shows no information on the error, im running it from Windows 7 64 Bit.
Is there something that ive done wrong?

What you have done is correct. You may have hit one of the bugs. We will release a new version in 2 weeks.

Hello,
this post is from 3 month ago.
I've got the same problem. Trying to install winXP in virtual hd on Win7-64-bit-host.
it always ends with BSOD, but I have the purchased version, which I bought this week!
Did I waste my money?

At which exact step did you see the crash? usuaully, this kind of BSOD is caused by the storage driver. namely, you need to use a 3rd party SCSI driver for your hard disk.
The best thing to try is to install XP from a physical cdrom on your host, to check whether xp can be installed at all.

hi,
I already used that cd (and its image) to install both on (another) physical pc and in Virtualbox.
the BSOD appears in the 1st install step after asking third party drivers (which I skip) right before formatting and after the message "\amd64\vbootsmp.sys dammaged".
I also tried another way: I started installation in a virtual machine until the installation files were copied in the virtual hard disk. Before rebooting, I stopped the VM and used the hard disk file with Vboot, up from the 2nd install step. Also in this case, the BSOD appeared.
the error message is
stop: 0x0000007B (0xf78az528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000,0x00000000)

you see "vbootsmp.sys dammaged" message?
the 7B error indicates disk read problems. and 0xC0000034 is File Not Found, basically the vhd file is not mounted well, and thus causes the BSOD.
Do you mean the same error occured if you install vboot inside a vm?
