Control Android device via IP notebook to notebook and USB laptop to android 5 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

the scenario I am interested in looks like this:

- there is an Android device with VMLite VNC server connected via USB to notebook A
- (the Android device is also connected via WIFI to a closed IP network not reachable from any of the notebooks)
- notebook A and notebook B are connected to each other via an IP network

Is it possible to control the Android device with TightVNC from notebook B?
I.e., the communication would have to go via:
Android <-USB-> Notebook A <-IP Network-> Notebook B

I guess it should be possible to achieve this by configuring port fowarding on notebook A, but I'd like to get a confirmation and ideally some advice/instructions.

Thanks,
Paco

Yes, you can surely do that, if Notebook B can access Notebook A. If you click USB Connect on our desktop program running on Notebook A, the android device attached via USB behaves like it has the same ip address as Notebook A. And you can vnc to IP-of-Notebook-A:5901, or use a browse to IP-of-Notebook-A:5801

This is exactly how we debug problems on other users devices.
