TOPIC: Cant connect to VNC Server with Samsung Galaxy S5
#17586
Cant connect to VNC Server with Samsung Galaxy S5 5 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Just upgraded to an S5 (stock, no root). recently had this working flawlessly on the old S3.

Using the same computer as before we were unable to get the app to present an ip until following these instructions:

adb shell
cd /data/local/
mkdir tmp (if already exists, this command will fail, ignore it)
cd tmp
cp /data/data/com.vmlite.vncserver/files/vmlitevncserver .
./vmlitevncserver

Now the app shows an ip, however we are unable to connect...just times out.

Help!

Is your PC and S5 within the same wifi network? i.e. check if they use the same router.

You can try to click USB Connect (while still connected with USB cable), then use localhost instead of the ip address to connect. for example, you enter localhost:5901 to a vnc viewer or localhost:5801 to a browser
