Re:rPlay beta bug reports and feedbacks 5 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
I just finished installing the rplay software and it shows up on my MacBook Pro Retina (mid 2012) as a device that can be shared to. When I try to stream audio or mirror it doesn't work. These are the only errors I'm getting:

I'm not getting any errors on the raspberry pi side when I run rplay. Any tips for troubleshooting this?

What I've tried:
Restarting all the things
Reinstalling all dependencies
Reinstalling rplay
DapperFox

Installed a few times, on very clean raspberry raspbian system, but no luck.
iPad2 and iPad Air does see the rplay, but can not connect to it.
Using it with AirParrot seems to be good, without audio support.
I am using many devices, especially I would buy a working version.
Still waiting for rDisplay for Android come out to Google Play Store.
All my best to you huisinro!

at first, thank you for the beta key

i test it with a 8GB sd-card (class10) and a iphone 4s and a ipad air.

after the installation i load the snd_bcm2835 and the sound is working very well.

at the moment all video files runs on hdmi and all local music on my iphone runs with amixer cset numid=3 1 on analog sound.
the analog sound was not loud enough. so you can fix it with a short command "amixer set PCM 1dB"

the air control with games is runnig very well.

Things they dont work:
after i installed it on a clean raspian i want to see it with raspbmc together. but the screen of xbmc is over the mirroring screen from the iphone. you can see it a bit when you activated the dim mode from the screensaver in xbmc.

and the second one is the standard youtube app. the videos didn't run. but other youtube apps like foxtube runs very smooth. amazon prime video didn't runs too.

thank you for you hard work.

i hope someone can find a solution for the xbmc layer problem.

best regards

sry for my bad english, i'm from germany

Installed rPlay with no issues a few days ago, following *all* the email instructions + fixing /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf "pcm.front cards.pcm.front" reference to default.

This works, confirming video playback and audio are working fine through HDMI:
omxplayer `youtube-dl -g "<youtube_video_url>"`

About Chromecast:

I can see "rplay (RPi)" listed as a Cast device both in my Windows Chrome and my iPad YouTube app.
*but* video casting isn't working.

Each time I access the devices list, this shows up in Pi's terminal session:
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found

When I try to actually cast a video through Chrome, this shows up:
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 404: Not Found
MG: Error 501: Not Implemented
MG: Error 501: Not Implemented
MG: Error 501: Not Implemented

Then Chrome's Google Cast shows this msg:
Unable to cast to rplay (RPi).
An unexpected error occurred. Please try the following:
Try to cast again
Verify your network connectivity

With iPad's Youtube app, I get this when accessing the Cast devices list:
MG: Error 503: Service Unavailable
MG: Error 501: Not Implemented
MG: Error 501: Not Implemented

and when trying to cast the video, I see no error msgs in the console and all the iPad shows up is
"Playing on rplay (RPi)" with the rotating logo
...until (apparently) the video gets to the end and it rewinds the video ready to play on the iPad again, as if it was cast successfully.

The AirPlay (with iOS7 iPad2):

It works. AirPlay Mirroring and AirPlay of media, works fine unless I try it through the Youtube app.

I can see the Youtube app while AirPlay Mirroring but as soon as I try to play a video through it, nothing happens on the TV while the iPad thinks it's streaming through AirPlay.

So, the Youtube App is unusable for casting on the iPad, either through AirPlay or Chromecast.

Chromecast'ing from Windows (Chrome) isn't working either.

I'll keep an eye on the forums for solutions (already tried searching but found no solutions).

oh btw, rPlay on the iPad works fine, playing Youtube cast videos from the same Windows Chrome Google Cast extension option.

Hi,

I just installed rplay using the infos in the mail.

I am now trying to connect via the http:IP:7100/admin with the default login admin and pass admin as said in the mail

It says incorrect username/password.... Any idea ?

I am on OSX so cannot edit the linux files directly, I have to connect through the network.

thank you
